A bespoke artisanal project from Warsaw's Saska Kepa. A kitchen island clad in polished steel that gained a mesmerizing gradient through thermal treatment. An object that turns light into art.
Project description
Continuing our experiments with artisanal metalwork, we pushed the boundaries further in this project located in Warsaw's Saska Kepa. Unlike our previous designs featuring satin sheet metal, the centerpiece of this living area is a kitchen island clad in mirror-polished steel subjected to precise thermal treatment (oxidation). The result is a sculptural, monolithic block that comes alive with a mesmerizing gradient, seamlessly transitioning from deep purples and blues to warm copper tones. However, the true magic of this bespoke object reveals itself in its interaction with the sun. The polished surface catches natural light, casting phenomenal, multicolored reflections across the oak parquet floor and walls. This is design that pulsates and transforms with every passing hour, providing a spectacular contrast to the deep, matte black cabinetry in the background.
